This Is Valdivia
THE VISION BEHIND VALDIVIA
Valdivia was founded in 2022 by Ecuadorian designer Alexa Jurado and her husband, Danilo Zambrano with the vision of preserving the country’s artisanal heritage through timeless luxury pieces.
Inspired by slow fashion, sustainability, and the beauty of ancestral craftsmanship, Alexa created Valdivia after years of admiring the artistry behind Ecuadorian handwoven goods—especially the millenary tradition of toquilla straw weaving, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.
Each Valdivia piece is thoughtfully designed in Florida and handcrafted in Ecuador by skilled artisans using traditional techniques passed down through generations. Every creation carries the essence of heritage, craftsmanship, and intentional luxury.

A BRAND BUILT ON INTENTION
The name Valdivia honors one of Ecuador’s oldest coastal cultures, celebrated for its artistry, craftsmanship, and deep connection to heritage—serving as a bridge between the past and present.
Our collections are created with an artisanal approach and a refined modern aesthetic for women who value timeless design and meaningful craftsmanship. From handwoven Panama hats to carefully crafted accessories, every piece reflects the beauty of slow luxury.
We work closely with artisan communities throughout Ecuador, supporting fair craftsmanship while helping preserve traditional weaving techniques that remain an important part of the country’s cultural identity.

DESIGNED TO GIVE BACK
Through every purchase, Valdivia proudly gives back to children and families in need in Ecuador, supporting the communities that continue to inspire our story and helping preserve the future of Ecuadorian craftsmanship for generations to come.
